Shanghai People's Square ToastMasters Club

Everything in this meeting was excellent. TME, guests, audience, speakers, evaluators used every opportunity to show their dedication and commitment to helping the club members to achieve excellence which creates the benchmark club in Shanghai! 

   TME used humourous and entertaining language usage and gestures pushed the atmosphere to a climax.

   ”Special Sharing” from Marc Hong was focues on ”Law of Attraction” to tell us a magic which is “I attract to myself, my life and business, whatever I give my attentionm energy and focus to, whether negative or positive.” It was such a coincidence that I read a few books on this topic and I think it works!

    C1 speaker, the new comer, Phoenix Feng shared with us his true personal stories which is really encouraging. He told us never give up, no matter what the situation is.

    C3 speaker, Cynthia Chen, made her C3 speech again! A touching story of her. She finally got what she wanted! Congratulations!

    C4 speaker, the immediate past President, Spike Gu, acted as a professor in Philosophy and proposed a series of questions to make us make a decision in dilemmas. It is the most inspiring and provoking for me in the evening. I personally love it best!

    Each evaluator voiced his/her opinions and gave valuable advice and suggestions to speakers, benefiting each one in the meeting.

    Thanks a lot! PSTMC! It was my first day joinging in and you offered me such a great opportunity to convey my happiness to all those who care about us and are interested in us. 

    PSTMC, we will make it happen!

The Benchmark Outing

As always, People Square Toastmaster makes every effort to be a benchmark club. Early December, they held an impressive trip successfully. More than 40 participants joined this trip, including guests from Amazing Friday as well as Ideal Toastmaster club.

The schedule was carefully designed in advance by PRVP team and Jesscia Wu, one of the most dedicated members in the club. It focused on specifically two parts, hot spring which is below the foot of Mountain Huang and the Village Hong where Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was shot.

The trip was extremely comfortable and everyone enjoyed a lot of fun. In the hot-spring, both indoor and outdoor were well equipped. You might drink some ginger tea, and have some chitchat with friends. However, bikini beauties as many people expected, were not available simply because it became dark very soon. The next day, the trip headed to the Village Hong. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the living style was definitely full of leisure. Most of people had a very deep impression on these beautifully historical architectures and wished never to leave.

All in all, feedback are positive and People Square will do its best continuously.

Every year, when the election day in People’s Square Toastmasters Club comes. Lots of active members will join in the election.
Some one will not understand why there are so many people want to compete in this election.
They will ask:
Why did they join in the election?
Why did they run for the position they can not get any payment?
Why? Why? Why?

1, Jacky Shao — run for PRVP
……How can I leave such a fantastic place with so many lovely friends. About the election,I just wanted to give it a try, and I am definitely not a name caller. Everyone just wants to be his best self, isn’t he?
I will try more roles and speeches, will bring more friends to the meeting as well.

2.Nika Xu — run for EVP
I made this decision in the last minute. Even I told you(Roawin) before the election, when spike asked me whether I want to accept, I hesitated too…
I said yes finally, because I don’t want such an important job, but no other competitors.  Do you still remember the first turn of officer election, that’s fierce, right?
I said yes, because I just don’t like my behavior—-careless. we still remember the first time when we entered in this room, right.
I said yes, because I saw there were also many other members who was willing to contribute to this club, right?
I care title, a little. but what  matters  is that  we grow with the club, club grows , we grow.
I do appreciate you and your contribution , you  take the responsibility all the time…
I will support Jolie’s EVP job , and I know she needs.
We are together.
