小小分享了如何更好的准备“Humorous Contest”
她提供了准备的方法就是

准备Humourous Contest 4“R”原则：

1.Rule

首先要知道Toastmasters humurous Contest的比赛规则，这样才可以更好的准备自己的比赛演讲；

2.Write

小小推荐了两个学习的方法，第一个方法就是去Youtube搜索Champion Videos, 第二个就是去搜索Champion演讲的Scripts,可以模仿冠军的演讲，学习他们演讲的内容和表达方式。

3.Rehearsal

需要不断的练习，因为Toastmasters的比赛对时间的要求非常的好，哪怕你超过时间1秒都会让整个演讲fail掉，而且humorous contest一个很重要的要素就是，你需要考虑给观众“笑”的时间，要把这部分的时间考虑到你的演讲当中去，

看看世界冠军Darren的自己的录像带，就知道他练习了多少次，冠军背后都是不懈的努力和练习。

4.Resource

Internet是最好的资源了，小小推荐了台湾的Toastmasters网站，上面有很好的参考信息。

《大声说》是上海文广的艺术人文频道非常受欢迎的一道节目。这档节目的议题都是当前社会的热门话题，比如讨论刘谦引发的魔术热好不好，消费卷是否分发？周立波比小沈阳更高雅？等等一些争议性的话题。节目组会分别邀请正反方3名进行讨论，同时观众也有机会参与节目的讨论。今天，我们就是作为节目的观众去参与。

到了节目组外面啦，大家都在等。先来一个标准照。

每次PSTMC聚会，如果有时间空余的话，大家的脑袋基本是不会闲下来的，UNO牌，杀人，三国杀基本上必须有一样。

大家杀的很酣畅。

节目还没有开始，大家都先争着做一把主持人，Toastmasters本身就是主持人的意思，今天都小小满足一把。

这次人民广场Toastmasters俱乐部参加的SMG《大声说》栏目的议题是“酒后驾车致人死亡是否采用死刑”。

节目现场，双方专家讨论及其酣畅淋漓，孙国庆主持经常需要大声协调双方的争论。

节目录制了3个小时，俱乐部的Jacky，Terry，Jessica都有上台发言。而且观点都受到嘉宾的表扬，PS Toastmasters俱乐部的发言的同学是最多的啦，大家等正式节目看吧。

现场录制过程中，主持人孙国庆，气场很强，舞台和讨论方向都控制的很好。是值得大家学习的一个优秀主持人。

现场讨论的激情火花四溅，笑点频出。因为现场录制不允许拍照，所以就无法放上图片给大家看了。

First time as TME

Last meeting(20090728), I just tried role—TME, who host the whole meeting. I  score myself 65.

I list some areas I need to improve.

1)Tone Setter

Toastmaster of the Evening means you need set tone for the meeting, but if yourself not so comfortable, how do the audience?

2) Speaker Introducer

Two things about this:

2.1) one  thing is “repeat”, such as we I say welcome sb… i always use Let’s welcome sb …, no changes.( this needs daily accumulation)

Perhaps I can say:

let’s invite…

Let’s warmly welcome…

Let’s put our hands to welcome…

please put our hands together for…

let us hear from…

Let me call upon…

I’d like to invite…

2.2) another thing is body language

when I shake hands with speaker, I used to go to the speaker, instead of waiting for the speaker coming to the stage. This may lead the speak not stand on the center of the stage.

3) Applause Leader,Appreciation Giver

yes, I do applause, I do say thank you, but I did these in a rush. no pause.  Anyway, the effect is not so good.

4) Energizer

I don’t think I injected energy into this meeting

Especially in the end, I prepared to closing remarks.but I don’t know why I just say one word “thank you” without energy, no sincere.

5) Speaker

I also a speaker on the stage. Thanks to the Today’s grammarian, she picked a lot of bad usage of my speeches: pronunication of “sharing,snack”, silent (should be Please silence)

Frequency, One weak Point!

6) Host

I am not so smart to deal with the special situation.

Forget new added sharing session

After break, people still talked, and I am awkward and just say “silent pls, silent pls”

Miss the introduction of “New member induction”, then not smart to deal with it.

Anyway, although I blow the meeting, I do like the feeling of a tme. I will try next time and try to be better.

Room and accomodations

A/C was a little loud, but was switched on and off as appropriate by members

Good seating, just enough for the members and guests with a few more empty spots for latecomers

The center aisle is a little crowded with the camera there. If the camera is not in use, it might be better to take it away.

Please keep the PPT off if not in use as it is distracting

Brad (TME)

Keep your stories and comments focused. Its good that you make reflections and comments about what people had to say, but take it a step further and use what was last said to transition into the next topic.

Keep transitions smooth, don’t say the same sentence, or use the same structure twice. After asking the person to come up to the stage, don’t say anything more until they take the stage. Wait for them to come up, don’t go off the stage of to the side to meet them.

Spike (TTE)

Good acronyms. ‘SS’ Simple Structure ‘PREP’ Point, Reason, Example, Point.

Good use of PREP structure to give feedback. Specific examples are important.

Good to point out good use of ‘vivid’ laguage.

Peter Wan (IE C9)

Good insight about ’3 parts to persuade’, followed by examples of how speaker demonstrated each section.

Good suggestion of how to improve the ‘power’ of their speech

Joe He (IE C9)

Good examples of how speaker used concrete proof with photos and statistics.

Good examples of how speaker choose a good topic to connect with the audience and appeal to their emotions

Remember to discuss why good habits are important? Why do we want to connect with the audience? So that our messages have more impact and are received more effectively by the audience.

The writing on your paper is too small, it is impossible to read the smaller fonts
